A practical fit guide

Measure the room, then choose the piece.

This guide works for any room. Measure the space, allow room to move, check the path in, then compare the dimensions stated on each listing. It shares general guidance and recorded facts, not certifications.

01

Map the available space.

Measure the usable wall or floor area. Note doors, windows, skirting and sockets that the piece must work around.

02

Allow room to move.

Leave space for chairs to pull out, doors and drawers to open and people to walk past. The room guides below suggest common clearances.

03

Check the path in.

Measure doorways, lifts, stairs and turns on the way to the room. Large pieces arrive in packages that need a clear route.

04

Compare the recorded dimensions.

Every listing states its dimensions. Concept listings show dimensions that still need confirmation with your order.

Room by room

What to measure in each room.

Common clearances to plan around, with a few recorded sizes from each room to compare against your measurements.

Furniture for growing years

In a kids room, age is only the first measurement.

Start with the age guidance on each Kids listing, then compare working height, reach and the space around the piece. Decide what your child should be able to reach, see or put away, and follow the supervision notes where a listing states them.

No standard footprint works?

Bring the measurements to a custom brief.

Share the room, the intended use, the usable dimensions and any constraints. A brief starts design review. It is not an order or a final quote.
